The German National GEOSS Implementation Plan(DGIP) was finalized in 2007. The interministerial committee for geoinformation (IMAGI) adopted it for implementation in 2008.

D-GIP

A 1. DGIP progress report was produced by D-GEO in early 2009. It was presented to IMAGI on March 31st, 2009.

A 2nd DGIP progress report was finalized by D-GEO in March 2010.

The 10-Year Implementation Plan and the accompanying reference document outline how GEOSS will be constructed.

The present GEO Work Plan (2009-11)

The Cape Town Declaration was adopted by ministers of the GEO Member States in November 2007.

The GEO Report on Progress was presented to the ministers of the GEO Member States in November 2007. It was accompanied by a list of "Early Achievements", the "First 100 Steps to GEOSS" (Annex).

The GEO Strategic Targets, accepted by the 6th GEO Plenary (Washington D.C., 2009), consolidate the GEO objectives of the 10-Year Implementation Plan. Each of the Targets is supported by specific outcomes to help monitor the effectiveness of GEOSS implementation.

The Beijing Declaration was adopted by GEO Ministers in November 2010. It confirms the Strategic Targets and will form a basis for preparations within GEO towards the post-2015 period.

Five years after adopting the 10-Year Implementation Plan GEO has conducted a mid-term evaluation. The evaluation report recognizes progress and sucesses in several domains. It also highlights some fundamental deficits. In their 13 recommendations the evaluations's authors indicated options for GEO and its members for addressing these deficits.
The main achievements of GEOSS implementation are summarized also in the 2010 Report on Progress.

The Data Sharing Action Plan was accepted by the 7th GEO Plenary (Beijing, 2010). It lists specific actions for GEO, the GEO Member States, and its Participating Organizations for implementing the GEO Data Sharing Principles broadly.
